By Titilope Adebambo Adeniyi-Oshin, Global Competency Intern
It was Thursday, October 18, 2012 on a cold fall Morning.
Maclin, Jennifer and I journeyed to the Courthouse to watch Maclin (a fellow intern) present an American flag to the Oldest Newest Citizen of the United States. I tagged along to see how it would be done, as soon I will get the chance of presenting as well. I was impressed by the Judge, for giving each and every person the opportunity to say where they are from. However, I could not help but get a little teary-eyed, as this was me last year July being presented my certificate of Citizenship. It was the proudest moment of my life. I felt as though I have been given this medal of honour to be a part of this Sovereign Nation. I felt invincible (I still feel that way). Being an American Citizen opens so many doors, at home and abroad. Sitting there and watching about 70 people becoming American citizens, I finally understood the proud moment my family and friends said they had when I was being sworn in. If I were to choose, I would go back in time; just to experience this feeling again. Perhaps, better words would give meaning to how I feel right now.
